Community and Leaderboard Rules
Last updated: 27.10.2026
These rules are part of our Terms of Service. They explain what is allowed on KollegPass, how you report content and how you can challenge our decisions.
1. What this is about
These rules apply to everything other people can see from you on KollegPass: nickname, avatar, photo, real name, leaderboard entries and result cards. They also apply to ranked tests, the referral programme and reports.
There is no chat on kollegpass.de. Our community on Telegram is a separate service with its own rules (section 13).
2. Basic rules
- Be respectful. No insults, threats, harassment, hate speech or discrimination.
- No illegal content.
- No sexual, violence-glorifying or extremist content or symbols.
- No personal data of other people.
- Do not pretend to be someone else – neither another person nor a Studienkolleg, university, authority or the KollegPass team.
- No advertising, no spam, no links and no contact details in profiles.
- Respect the rights of others, for example to images.
3. Nicknames, avatars and photos
Nickname
- Not allowed: real names of other people, names that look official (for example "Studienkolleg_Admin" or "KollegPass_Support"), insulting, sexual or extremist terms, advertising, links and contact details such as phone numbers or usernames on other services.
Avatar
- The same rules as for nicknames apply. Only upload images you are allowed to use.
Photo
- The photo is optional. It may only show you, not other people.
- No nudity, no prohibited symbols, no advertising.
- If you are under 18, we do not show your name and photo publicly.
4. Fair play in ranked tests
- You need an account for ranked tests. Your first three ranked tests are practice rounds and do not count.
- You have exactly one attempt per test.
- You solve the test alone. Not allowed: help from other people, AI tools, translation programs, search engines and other aids.
- No multiple accounts, no shared accounts, no scripts or bots and no interference with the app or the timer.
- Do not share tasks or answers while the test is running.
- Please report technical problems within to support@kollegpass.de.
- We check results for signs of cheating. Automated checks only flag anomalies. A human decides on measures.
5. How we enforce the rules
Possible measures – depending on how serious the violation is:
- a note or a warning,
- removing or resetting content (for example assigning a neutral nickname, removing an avatar or photo),
- removing the result of a ranked test from the scoring,
- temporary exclusion from leaderboards or individual features,
- temporary suspension of the account,
- termination of the contract.
Principles: We act diligently, objectively and proportionately. We take into account how serious and how frequent a violation is, whether it was intentional and what effects it has. We respect the fundamental rights of everyone involved, for example freedom of expression, and the protection of young people.
Tools: We use automated tools. A word filter can reject a nickname as you type it; you then simply choose another one. Fair-play checks flag unusual results. A human decides on removals of content, exclusions from scoring and suspensions.
6. Reporting content
Anyone can report content to us that they consider illegal or that breaks these rules – also without an account.
How to report:
- with the "Report" button next to profiles, leaderboard entries and result cards,
- with the report form at or
- by e-mail to legal@kollegpass.de.
Your report should contain:
- an explanation of why the content is illegal or breaks our rules,
- the exact location (for example link, nickname or leaderboard with week),
- your name and e-mail address – except for reports on certain offences against children, which you can also make anonymously,
- a statement that you believe in good faith that your information is accurate and complete.
What happens next:
- If you gave an e-mail address, we confirm receipt immediately.
- We review the report promptly, diligently and objectively.
- We tell you our decision and how you can challenge it.
- If we used automated means to process the report or make the decision, we tell you.
If there is an acute danger to life or safety, contact the police immediately.
7. Reasons for our decisions
If we restrict your content or your account, we inform you at the latest when the measure takes effect. Restrictions are, for example: removing or hiding content, removing a result from the scoring, limiting features, suspending or terminating the account.
- which measure we took, which content it affects and how long it applies,
- the facts and circumstances we rely on, and whether the decision is based on a report,
- whether we used automated means,
- for illegal content: the legal ground and why the content is illegal,
- for breaches of our rules: the rule concerned and why the content breaks it,
- your options to challenge the decision (sections 8 and 9).
We send you the statement of reasons in the app and, if we have your e-mail address, by e-mail. Exception: an authority requires us for legal reasons not to inform you.
8. Complaint against a decision
- You can complain against our decision within 6 months after we informed you. It is free of charge.
- This also applies to people who reported something, if they disagree with our decision on their report.
- How: through the link in our message, through the form or by e-mail to support@kollegpass.de. Name the decision and explain why you think it is wrong. You can attach evidence.
- A human reviews your complaint, not only an automated system. Where possible, this is a person who was not involved in the first decision.
- We decide promptly, usually within days. If our decision was wrong, we reverse it immediately.
- We tell you the result with reasons and name further options.
9. Other options
- You can go to court at any time.
- For disputes about moderation decisions there are certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies (Art. 21 DSA). The European Commission publishes a list.
- Data protection complaints go to a supervisory authority (see the Privacy Policy).
10. Misuse of reports and complaints
Anyone who often submits manifestly unfounded reports or complaints first receives a warning. After that we may stop processing their reports and complaints for a reasonable time. Anyone who often posts manifestly illegal content receives a warning and may then be suspended for a time. We decide case by case and take into account number, proportion, severity and intent.
11. Danger to life and safety
If we learn of a criminal offence that threatens or may threaten the life or safety of people, we inform the competent law enforcement authorities (Art. 18 DSA).
12. Points of contact
- For users: support@kollegpass.de (German, English, Russian)
- For authorities: legal@kollegpass.de (German, English)
- Legal representative in the EU (Art. 13 DSA): [DSA_LEGAL_REPRESENTATIVE]
More details are in the legal notice.
13. Our Telegram community
- Our community on Telegram is a separate service on the Telegram platform and not part of kollegpass.de.
- Telegram's terms and the group rules pinned in the group apply there.
- As administrators we can delete messages and remove members.
- You can also report illegal content directly to Telegram.
- Beware of scams: our team will never ask you for payments, passwords or codes in private messages.
14. Changes
We may update these rules, for example when new features are added. We inform you about important changes in the app. For changes that affect your contract, section 24 of the Terms of Service applies.
